For the first time since Israel’s War of Independence, on October 7 and the two-year-long war that followed, women combat soldiers joined their male counterparts on the battlefield on a large scale. They served in tank crews, in search and rescue, in the special forces, in infantry, conducting operations in Gaza and Lebanon.
