Here are Thursday’s latest updates from Israel, Gaza and the Middle East:

■ The IDF said that a mortar shell was shot and missed its target during military operations “in the area of the Yellow Line.” Palestinians reported 11 people were killed in an Israeli mortar strike in central Gaza City, including one critically.

■ Palestinian media outlets also reported one person was killed in an Israeli airstrike on Gaza City.

■ The Israeli military said it killed a Hezbollah terrorist in southern Lebanon’s Taibeh, who had been spying on IDF positions.

■ Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he had approved the “largest ever” deal to supply natural gas to Egypt. Diplomatic sources said the U.S. pushed Israel to accept the deal, which was delayed by Netanyahu.

■ Australian police pressed terrorism and murder charges against the suspected shooter at the Bondi Beach massacre.

British police on Wednesday said they would take tougher action against people who use placards and chants to target the Jewish community, saying recent violent incidents had changed the context around such protests.

■ The European Commission will launch new measures to prevent and counter radicalization and antisemitism, President Ursula von der Leyen said on Wednesday.

■ New York’s Crown Heights saw the second antisemitic stabbing in under 24 hours, a spokesman for Chabad said.

Cars were set on fire and walls were vandalized with anti-IDF messages in Hebrew in the West Bank village of Ein Yabrud on Tuesday night, local media reported.

■ Two Israeli men who had planned to travel to an enemy state to train with the Islamic State were detained for questioning, authorities said.
