National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir’s public-relations-focused rampage in the Bedouin village of Tarabin, his TikTok-addressed demonstration of “governance,” as well as the shocking and threatening statements by Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich against Supreme Court President Yitzhak Amit could and should be viewed as a particularly disturbing pinnacle in the dark and aggressive assault on democracy and the rule of law, and as part of the disintegration of this beleaguered country under the rule of criminals and thugs.
